Herdsires

Our goal is to provide you with high quality genetically consistent sires to improve conformation and fleece quality in your alpaca herd.

Females that arrive at Irishtown Alpacas for breeding must be at least 14 months of age, in good health and body condition and halter trained.  Females (and cria if coming) must be BVD negative.  We also ask that alpacas be dewormed with Panacur
® (fenbendazole) or albendazole within 2 weeks of arrival.

Females generally remain at our farm for 2-3 months, and pregnancy is confirmed with spit checks and progesterone hormone levels.

If you prefer that your female remains on your farm, we can arrange for a drive-by breeding within a 250 km radius of our farm.
